Kitchen Remodeling is Gaining Interest
A recent Home Design Trends survey conducted by the American Institute of Architects has revealed that remodeling projects for kitchens and baths could be growing. In the survey there were indications that homeowners prefer larger kitchens, and in some cases, more than one.
According to Kitchen + Bath Business (K+BB), the economy and decreased home values can be blamed for the “more modest” designs seen in the past few years. However, that trend seems to be easing slightly as more and more homeowners want to include products and design elements in their kitchens that help to increase energy efficiency while also adapting the space to be convenient for senior adults and those with accessibility concerns, creating a more “universal design.”
K+BB reports that the survey revealed renewable flooring materials, computer areas and recharging stations, renewable countertop materials, drinking water filtration systems, and double islands as some of the popular items homeowners are including in their kitchens when remodeling.
