Are you a fan of Old World kitchen design? If you are not familiar with this style kitchen, here are a 2 very common characteristics:

  • They usually have large hearths or cooking grottos
  • Distressed, unfitted cabinets that emerged from the look dating back to pre-17th century Europe

The Old World style is made up of a vast array of design themes that include Castle, French Chateau, Mediterranean, medieval, Italian Villa, Tuscan and Normandy or Dutch cottage. When you are designing an Old World style kitchen you want to go natural with the materials. For example you’ll want to use materials like brick or plaster walls, stone floors, mosaic tiles and pewter or copper accents.
